A New Boutique Festival ForSydney... It's Essential!
Thu 23rd Mar, 2006 in Local News
You’re probbaly thinking “the last thing Sydney (and my pocket) needs is ANOTHER boutique festival!” Right? Well, we think you’re wrong… with Sydney being the large artistic and creative musical haven that it is, another festival is just what we need!
The Essential Festival will be taking over Surry Hills (Devonshire Street to be more exact), where they’ll be controlling the excitable chaos at three of the street’s premier venues, The Gaelic Theatre, Madisons and ‘Four Corners’ (The Gaelic Club), where they’ll be bringing you some of the hottest live acts of the moment along with hotly-tipped up and comers.
Prepare to be well and truly rocked with performances by Decoder Ring, Dappled Cities Fly, Midnight Juggernauts, Red Sun Band, The Devoted Few, Further, The Lovetones, The Valentinos, Belles Will Ring, Andy Clockwise & DJs PhDJ (Purple Sneakers), Francoise Buble and Loada (Bing Bang Bong) and Goldfoot, Lozvegas and Knife (Pash).
If that isn’t enough to convince your weary wallet just yet, then there’ll also be markets stalls, food shops and more live acts to be announced! It all happens on Anzac Day (Tuesday April 25) from midday through till 10pm. Capacity is strictly limited to 1000, so be sure to make up your mind fast. Tickets are available from Monday March 27.
Stay tuned to FL for updates.
