4ZzZ's Market Day CelebrationFor Brisbane
Tue 8th Nov, 2005 in Local News
This year’s Market Day Festival to be held on December 17th will be the first since 2002 and promises to be one of the best yet. All the great aspects of past Market Days will once again be on display; the awesome live music complimented by great light and visual displays, the market stalls selling a wide variety of merchandise, the food vendors catering for numerous dietary requirements and of course the licensed bar.
On the bill for this years festivities are: Ed Keupper & Jeffrey Wegner, David McCormack & The Polaroids, The Red Paintings, Resin Dogs, Screamfeeder, The Disables, Sekiden, Gentle Ben & His Sensitive Side, Giants Of Science, The Serenity, Iron On, Dick Nasty, Gazoonga Attack, Monster Zoku Onsomb, Hot Rubber Glove, Doch, Turnpike, Kooii, Steve Towson & The Conscripts, Toxic Lipstick, Heavy Weight Champion, The Golden Circles, The Zebras, The Mean Streaks, The French Horns, Rob Balboa & Crew, The Coalition Crew, Avalon Drive, Flamingo Crash, Community Cervix, Mouthguard.
4ZzZ fm is a self funded radio station and Market Day is the main fundraiser that generates cash for the station. The event is staffed nearly entirely by volunteers and never fails to be a great day. The community atmosphere is always a highlight of Market Days and combined with the fun and relaxed atmosphere that is found at any outdoor music festival, the recipe for success is clearly evident.
The venue for this grand party is the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds, site of festivals such as Livid, Children of the Swarm and Adventjah to name a few. Held on December 17th, tickets are $30 for subscribers and $35 for general public and although admission is more expensive than recent years, the quality and value for money will easily equal that of the best market days in the past.
Tickets can be purchased from Rockinghorse, Skinnys, Butterbeats, Gooble Warming and of course the 4 ZzZ station reception located at 264 Barry Pde, Fortitude Valley. Market Day is an all ages event and ID will be required if punters are wishing to drink.
