The Peats Ridge Festival has unveiled the timetables for their three-day party in the Glenworth Valley at the end of the year.
The John Butler Trio have the honour of being the headline act to bring in the New Year, while Friendly Fires are set to keep the party going well into 2013 with a funky DJ set. Saturday night will see Tijuana Cartel bring their electronic grooves to the Bluebird stage as the day’s headliner, while on Sunday, English post-rock group 65daysofstatic will entrance the crowd with their progressive sounds.
With 200 acts and 10 stages at this year’s festival, there’s no shortage of options for festival goers, who have a seemingly endless selection of acts over the three days. There’s a great crop of rising local talent to be found throughout, with acts like Gold Fields, Deep See Arcade and The Medics all playing over the weekend. There’s a notable absence of clashes as well, with none of the bigger, international acts such as Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Unknown Mortal Orchestra or The Black Seeds clashing over the three days.
Now in its eighth year, the Peat’s Ridge Festival is a combination of arts, music and lifestyle, with a commitment to “bring people and artists together”. FL was there last year, to capture all the excitement over the weekend, including man-of-the-moment Gotye as he brought in the New Year.
