Rodriguez leads more Bluesfestsideshows

Bluesfest have announced sideshows for Rodriguez, Tedeschi & Derek Trucks, Trombone Shorty and Joan Armatrading to tide us over while we wait with bated breath for the greatest announcement in the history of the festival.
With interest in his work piquing since the film Searching for Sugar Man was released earlier this year, legendary folk musician Rodriguez will play sideshows in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane when he returns to Australia next March. Last here for Bluesfest in 2010, FL was at his performance in Sydney: “The music transformed him into the mythological sugar man that continues to find new ears, nearly forty years after his last studio outing.“ Rodriguez will be supported by The Break, who are set to release the follow up their debut Church Of The Open Sky early next year.

Sunday, March 24 – The Gov, Adelaide
Monday, March 25 – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Monday, April 1 – Tivoli, Brisbane
Husband and wife team Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks will lead their 11-piece Tedeschi Trucks Band through a night of soul standards, with support from New Orleans funk master Troy ‘Trombone Shorty’ Andrews at sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Legendary blues singer-songwriter Joan Armatrading will play four additional shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Penrith and Melbourne while in Australia for Bluesfest. Throughout her 40-year career Armatrading has released 17 studio albums that have spawned countless hits including: ‘Love and Affection’, ‘Show Some Emotion’, ‘Drop The Pilot’, ‘Willow’ and’ Me Myself I.’
