Golden Plains 2013 lineuprevealed
Tue 23rd Oct, 2012 in Local News
Golden Plains has always been about discovering stuff, be it apricot sunsets, like-minded travellers or sweet tunes. And 2013 will prove no different with Aunty Meredith unveiling a weekend of uncharted musical adventures on the festival’s Lucky Seven lineup.
Joining Cat Power and George Clinton come March will be GP alumni Dinosaur Jr, Swedish troubadour Tallest Man on Earth and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. They will be facing some stiff boot competition by way of lesser known legends like Greek instrumentalist Psarantonis, who is to the Cretan lyra what Warren Ellis is the violin (fittingly Jim White will accompany him on drums); the father of Etho-Jazz and master of the vibraphone Mulatu Astatke; and Scottish DJ/disco dancer Keb Darge.
Filling out the future legends contingent at Golden Plains 2013 will be Canada’s Purity Ring, New Zealand’s Opossum, Flume, chillwave pioneer Toro Y Moi and local “supergroup” Bushwalking (Songs/Kes Band/Fabulous Diamonds).
So much boot raising potential.
Aunty Meredith is proud to announce that Golden Plains Lucky Seven will be the same price as this year’s event and that it’s still BYO, free from commercial sponsors and dickheads, and still on just one stage so you miss a moment of the musical action.
First round Ballot winners have been notified this morning and the second round is now open at the Golden Plains website..
