Ringo Starr's soft rocksupergroup to tour in 2013

The last remaining living Beatle^ Ringo Starr has announced a tour of Australia, New Zealand, and Japan in February 2013—and he’s bringing an all-star soft rock supergroup along with him.

Starr will be joined by his All Starr Band, featuring guitarist Steve Lukather (Toto); bassist Richard Page (Mr.Mister); multi-instrumentalist genius and Tame Impala remixer Todd Rundgren; saxophonist Mark Rivera (Hall & Oates, Peter Gabriel); keyboardist Gregg Rolie (Santana, Journey); and drummer Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth).

At an All-Starr Band concert, Ringo performs all the Beatles classics you really want to hear – ‘Little Help From My Friends’, ‘Yellow Submarine’, ‘Act Naturally’ – and selected songs from his 16 solo albums. Each band member also performs hits from their own career, so expect to hear plenty of soft rock classics from Santana, Toto and Mr. Mister in the set. Past members of the All Starr Band include Men At Work’s Colin Hay, John Entwistle, Levon Helm, Clarence Clemons, Dr John, Sheila E., Jack Bruce, and Zak Starkey.

Starr’s new album Ringo 2012, featuring guest appearances from Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Joe Walsh, Dave Stewart and Van Dyke Parks, debuted at #181 in the UK with 752 sales in the first week.

The Australian dates will be announced Friday, October 26.

^Note: George Harison died in 2001, John Lennon died in 1980, Paul McCartney ‘died’ in 1966

"the last remaining living beatle ringo starr" ?????

how ever did i miss paul's passing? surely that would be big news all over the world! or maybe paul wasn't a beatle? wow - have i lived the last 50 years in a dream state?

i have tickets to see paul on november 11 in st. louis, missouri and haven't been told the concert has been cancelled due to death, so i'm still going to make the 3-hour drive from kansas city.

this guy is clearly not a paul fan . . . or needs an editor & fact-checker . . .

If he did, maybe Ringo could do a cover of Sting's We're Sending Our Love Down That Well.
