Blood Red Shoes sideshows

Brighton duo Blood Red Shoes have announced a pair of headline shows to round out their debut Australian tour.

After they help bring in the New Year with appearances at the Pyramid Rock and Peat’s Ridge festivals, Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell will hit the stage at The HiFi in both Melbourne and Sydney in the first week of 2013.

Since forming in 2004 the duo has released three albums – 2008’s Box of Secrets, 2010’s Fire Like This, and the new album In Time to Voices. Carter describes In Time to Voices, which was recorded with longtime producer Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys/Foals), as “a really ambitious record, not something which reflects our live show but something which is only limited by our imaginations and not by how many instruments we use onstage.”

It might be the band’s first visit to Australia but they have plenty of touring experience appearing at festivals including All Tomorrows Parties, Reading and Leeds, Summer Sonic, Pukkelpop, T in the Park and supporting the likes of Biffy Clyro, Maxïmo Park, Lightning Bolt, The Gossip, Siouxsie Sioux and Rage Against the Machine.

Blood Red Shoes sideshows:

Thursday, January 3 – The HiFi, Melbourne
Friday, January 4 – The HiFi, Sydney

Tickets on sale Monday, October 15

I'm there if I'm in town. In Time To Voices has been on high rotation most of the year.

The worst thing is that the oysters are so large you have to consider cutlery.

Damn, Santos and I bought our tickets recently. Feel bad that such a great band isn't selling too well but it's such a large venue for them. Would have expected something like OAF or The Standard.

Moshtix is sad to announce the limited supply of sitcom supporting characters has been exhausted.
