Bob Mould ‘Copper Blue’tour

Bob Mould will tour Australia in March 2013 playing Sugar’s classic 1992 album Copper Blue in full, plus a “healthy dose of Hüsker Dü” and solo tunes including tracks from his new album, Silver Age.

Copper Blue was a huge success for Mould, far eclipsing the sales for his earlier band, Hüsker Dü. As well as spawning four singles – ‘Changes’, ‘Helpless’, ‘A Good Idea’ and ‘If I Can’t Change Your Mind’ – the album was awarded “Album Of The Year” by NME ahead of REM’s _Automatic For The People, Spiritualized’s Lazer Guided Melodies, The Lemonheads’ It’s a Shame About Ray, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ Henry’s Dream.

The album was re-released earlier this year accompanied by a companion EP, plus B-sides, a complete 1992 live show and 40-page booklet. Mould also released his autobiography See A Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody last year covering his early years in rural New York, his years as a successful rock star, and his struggles with addiction.

Mould was also honoured with a tribute concert in Los Angeles last year with Dave Grohl, Ryan Adams, Craig Finn of the Hold Steady, Britt Daniel of Spoon, Grant Lee Phillips and No Age all taking to the stage to play Hüsker Dü, Sugar and solo Mould songs. Grohl told the audience that Mould’s albums had really shaped his approach to the guitar, inspiring him as much as the Beatles and Led Zeppelin: “He’s a real hero of mine and a real American icon.”

Proudly presented by Metropolis Touring and Tombowler

The un-disputed godfather of underground rock delivers his landmark record as it should be heard - live!

After twenty years, an album reissue, a solo turn, an autobiography and a tribute concert where the likes of Dave Grohl and Ryan Adams paid homage to him, Mould is still kicking ass and taking names and brings Copper Blue back to be experienced as it should be - live and on stage. This classic album will be played in its entirety, along with a healthy dose of Hüsker Dü and solo tunes including tracks from Mould's new album, Silver Age.

Fuck. Yes.

I love Hüsker Dü and I've been meaning to check out Sugar and his solo work for ages.

Super keen on this, his autobiography was probably the best thing I read last year.

Super keen also. Loved Sugar over Husker Du. An under-rated muso indeed and still energetic on stage to this day. Nice price as well! Will have to bide my time and hope it doesn't sell out, though I am gambling that I should be pretty safe.

Mr Mould was great last time I saw him. Which was the only time I've seen him.

Show cancelled without any notice. Had to email the promoter to ask why the tickets hadn't gone on sale.

Weren't tickets meant to go a sale today? The factory doesn't have Bob listed on their site. I hope this doesn't meant its cancelled...
