The Cribs added to PyramidRock 2012

The Cribs have been added to the line-up for this year’s Pyramid Rock Festival in Philip Island, Victoria.

The UK outfit, who last toured Australia in 2010, are among eight additions to the Pyramid bill, unveiled via Twitter tonight. They include The Amity Affliction, Brown Horn Orchestra, Mat McHugh & The Seperatista Sound System (formerly The Beautiful Girls), The Only, Pez, Redcoats and Winter People.

The Cribs’ fifth studio album, In The Belly of The Brazen Bull was released in May through Shock. Their first album since the departure of legendary guitarist Johnny Marr, it was described by FL as ‘a twisted affair brimming with ideas’

Pyramid Rock (December 29 to January 1) will be celebrating its ninth year in 2012 and third consecutive year at the same price ($270 for non-camping tickets; $305 for camping tickets). Other acts confirmed include Children Collide, 360, Closure In Moscow, Dead Letter Circus, Karnivool, Stonefield, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Anti-Flag, Blood Red Shoes and a DJ set from The Friendly Fires.

Tickets on sale tomorrow (September 4) at 9am.

The new album was a bit of a grower for me but turned out pretty decent. Live it sounds great!
