New festival promises“mouth-watering” lineup

According to Cherry Bar co-owner, Meredith Golden Boot founder and freelance rumour monger James Young the lineup for the first ever CherryFest is “mouth-watering”.

Not to be confused with CherryRock, CherryFest will feature a headlining set from sludge metal godfathers Eyehategod on their first ever trip to Australia and the return of the man behind the At The Drive-In and The Mars Volta guitar sound out the front of the prog-rock Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group.

The bill also includes a one-off reformation gig for Melbourne stoner rock crew Dern Rutlidge, Henry Wagons and My Left Boot. The final lineup will include 14 bands playing across two stages.

Young says that he’s “super keen to hold another event for the first time in the Spring sunshine and to take advantage of our current deluxe Yarra views before the 189-apartment 12-storey development is built at the base of AC/DC Lane”.

There are just 650 tickets available for the festival and they’re on sale now for $94.
