Blink-182 Sidewave announced
Thu 23rd Aug, 2012 in Local News
Update – 24th August:
Soundwave boss AJ Maddah now says that there won’t be a Blink-182 show as the Riverstage: “My mistake. Blink sideshow will not be happening at Riverstage”. It’s not clear where the show will be moved.
Soundwave Festival 2013 tickets went on sale this morning and quickly sold out in Brisbane and Melbourne, which is good news for festival boss AJ Maddah who’d predicted a quick sale, but not so great news if you missed out.
If you’re a distraught Blink-182 fan in Brisbane there’s a silver living with Maddah confirming that the band – Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker – will play a Sidewave show at the Riverstage on the night before the first Soundwave stop at the RNA Showgrounds. Maddah has also revealed that tickets for the all-ages show will be priced “between $95 and $110”.
The Brisbane Sidewave gig will be the first Blink-182 show in Australia since 2004 for the pop-punk heroes and Maddah says he’s also “working on” a Blink Sidewave for Melbourne. Maddah had announced earlier this month that the band would “most likely [play a Sidewave show] in Sydney” as well.
We’ve been promised “some legendary sideshows” next year with Soundwave – so expect Blink to be joined by some big name support acts at their Sidewave gigs.
Blink 182 Sidewave:
