THE OFFICIAL SOUNDWAVE 2013 LINEUP HAS BEEN RELEASED
The Soundwave festival lineup for 2013 will be unveiled tomorrow morning at 7.40am and festival boss AJ Maddah is pretty darn confident that he has put together something very special for us.
On Twitter earlier this week Maddah boldly announced, “I would be amazed if Bris/Syd/Melb do not sell out instantly… Honestly [I think Sydney will sell out in] under an hour.” For any mathematicians playing along at home that’s 50,000 tickets in less than 60 minutes.
Maddah said last week that the first announcement for the festival will feature 54 acts, although he claimed that “it’ll probably blow out to 60” by tomorrow morning. Several bands including Blink-182, Cancer Bats, The Chariot, Of Mice and Men and Stone Sour have already been announced for the lineup.
Tickets for Soundwave 2013 will be $187. There is no transaction fee or postage this year, but there’s a transport levy of $2 if you’re heading to the festival in Perth or Sydney which covers your public transport to and from the event.
Pre-sale tickets will go on sale next Wednesday 15th August and if there are any tickets left after the presale, they will go on sale a week after that. There’ll be a four ticket max for presale which will be staggered over several days for punters in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The Adelaide and Perth presales will be same day. There’ll be a two ticket max for the general on sale.
While it’s a little early to start thinking about Sidewave shows Maddah has already (unsurprisingly) ruled out the possibility of any sideshows in Perth or Adelaide. However he has announced that there’ll be “some legendary sideshows” and confirmed that Blink-182 will be playing at least one Sidewave show.
