No Sidewaves for Perth orAdelaide in 2013

There’ll be no Sidewaves for Soundwave fans out west in 2013 with Maddah declaring on Twitter that: “There will be no Sidewaves at all in Adelaide due to Perth Festival and Clipsal moving to SW weekend.” Despite Maddah’s comment, the Perth Festival and Clipsal dates don’t actually clash directly with Soundwave.
The Perth leg of the Soundwave tour is scheduled for Monday 4th March, two days after the Perth Festival closes (it runs from 8 February–2 March).
The Adelaide Soundwave is set to be held on Saturday 2nd March but the South Australian State Government has announced that it intends to move the Clipsal event to the weekend of February 21-24 to avoid clashing with other Adelaide festivals. The change is being contested by V8 Supercars chairman Tony Cochrane who claims that moving the event to February “will simply not happen” as race teams had been given a commitment that the 2013 season would not start until the first full week of March, but the official date for the race isn’t due for release until October.
There were no Sidewaves held in Adelaide as part of the Soundwave 2012 tour as festival boss AJ Maddah claimed that flights and freight logistics will not allow it, while Perth was only treated to a few extra shows including a headline show from Marliyn Manson and a show from Unearth, In This Moment, Kittie, and Heaven Shall Burn.
