It all happened during the magical summer of 1995. A maturing Joe Piscopo left `Saturday Night Live' to conquer Hollywood; People Express introduced a generation of hicks to plane travel; and I was in a barbershop quartet.

Word.

Stupid me thought working and playing sport was more important than going to the early BDO's

Silly me

one of the highlights of festivals in australia in the 90's was the varying combinations of aussie bands from about 1 until 5 in the arvo getting the party started! the bait, gerling, mark of cain, the gurge - the list goes on.....

I've lost count - somewhere between 8-10. Was going to Livid more in the 90's as I 'livid' in Brisbane back then (92-96). And weren't the 90's great for festivals - look at this line up from 96 Livid (my favourite ever festival)

LIVID # 10 - SAT 5TH OCT 1996 - DAVIES PARK, WEST END Garbage, silverchair, Everclear, The Jesus Lizard, Weezer, Regurgitator, Ash, Tumbleweed, Powderfinger, Tiddas, The Mark Of Cain, Ammonia, Toothfaeries, Snout, Turtlebox, Crop Circles, Blwo Hard, Precision Oiler, Fireballs, Lyngren, Gaslight Radio, Trout Fishing In Quebec, Dream Poppies, Mr Blonde, ISIS, Civ, Out of The Mud, Insurge, Pollyanna, Louis Tillett & Charlie Owen, Ben Lee, Black Eyed Susans, Cool CHick Cabaret, Shock Fungus, Tim Steward

snapcrackleROCK

snapcrackleROCK said on the 24th Jul, 2012

LIVID 1998 is the best lineup of any Australian festival, ever.

Public Enemy, Pulp, Sonic Youth, Regurgitator, The Living End, The Dandy Warhols, Money Mark, The Whitlams, Grinspoon, Jebediah, Custard, Resin Dogs, Luna, Even, Toothfaeries, Weave, Lavish, The Mavis's, Far Out Corporation, Frank Yamma, Pollen, The Gadflys, Fourplay, Fur, The Sunrize Band, Sprung Monkey, sixFThick, 5678s, Guttermouth, The Hellacopters, Pitchshifter, Toe to Toe, Nancy Vandal, Nokturnl, Underground Lovers, Tiddas, Crow, Tribal Link, Karma County, Broken Head, Robert Forster, Endorphin, Pre Shrunk, The Avalanches, High Pass Filter

I would have loved to have still been in Brisbane that year. I almost flew up but back then I was still a student and funds wouldn't allow it.

Oflick

Oflick said on the 24th Jul, 2012

The top bands in those two lineups are good, but after the fifth or six band they don't do much for me to be honest.

Oflick

Oflick said on the 24th Jul, 2012

I only know a few songs by them. The lineups are perfectly fine, there just aren't many bands that would particularly excite me.

Trout Fishing in Quebec was sthe single greatest Act I have seen in my entire life - and they were way down the bill. Although they played the riverstage at sunset just as my *** was coming on - was truly magical

Sir Toire

Sir Toire said on the 29th Jul, 2012

The fact that he was saying that he "bought", along with the wink, is a worrying sign. Does the word "bought" have a double meaning in this situation? If so, why me? Someone who is underage. Is it my uncle again? I'm scared. :(
