THE SOUNDWAVE 2013 LINEUP HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED

Update: 2nd August
Maddah has now confirmed that the lineup will be released “Next week”.

Soundwave boss AJ Maddah has announced that he “The festival is now fully booked and we’re ready to announce… once BDO have been on sale for at least 2 weeks”.

The Big Day Out goes on sale from Thursday 19th July so that means that we could see the Soundwave lineup as early as the 2nd of August. The lineup for the 2012 festival wasn’t released until October last year.

Maddah has also offered up a few more hints about the lineup, ruling out the possibility of Refused playing the festival – “You will not see Refused in Australia in 2013” – and making the bold claim that the “the next 9 to 10 months are going to be the greatest ever witnessed by Aus metalheads… [with] so many great tours coming up and not just by SWT”.

“The greatest ever”, huh? Gentleman start your Big Four rumours!

If there were a SW lineup prediction thread, I'd bet the top 3 bands will be Linkin Park, Blink-182, and either The Offspring or No Doubt.

But I really just want Public Image Ltd. and Killing Joke. Give me those two and I'll be happy.

Ah, who am I kidding? I want more than two bands. I demand to like every band on the lineup.

I'm just hoping the metal stage has some good shit this year, as Linkin Park, Blink 182, The Offspring and No Doubt do absolutely nothing for me.

Killing Joke would be awesome though - make that shit happen AJ.

Also, since we're speculating I'm going to suggest Tomahawk.

Someone asked AJ about Killing Joke and Ministry and he said one of them is likely. I don't know whether that means he's only trying for one or realistically he only expects to be able to get one, but I'm hoping he gets Killing Joke. I don't know if one of them is more likely than the other, though.
