King Cannons lunchbox gig
Mon 16th Jul, 2012 in Local News
After a six-month hiatus, M+N’s Lunchbox series returns to its spiritual home – Melbourne’s The Workers Club – for a free lunchtime show by King Cannons on July 20th at 1pm.
The New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based six-piece will play songs from their recently released debut album The Brightest Lights, which was produced by Shihad’s Tom Larkin at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne.
When we spoke to King Cannons as part of the Debut Album Series frontman Luke Yeoward described the band’s sound as “roots influenced rock music or roots influenced pop music… There are a lot of influences in there but when it comes down to it we just channel it out in a very simple way.”
Past M+N Lunchbox gigs have included The Howling Bells, Adalita, The Panics, Expatriate, Lost Animal, Henry Wagons and The Vasco Era.
