Regina Spektor announcesAustralian tour in December

Updated:
Dates announced

Regina Spektor was last in Australia for a one off set at Splendour in the Grass last year plying a set that led us to crown her the Queen of the McLennan tent.

Although the set suffered from the unnecessary backing beats provided by the Aston Shuffle down on the Mixup stage, Spektor’s only performance for 2011 saw the fans cram into the McLennan

Now with her new album What We Saw From The Cheap Seats – a “triumph in so many respects” according to the FL review – Spektor will be returning for a more extensive tour in December without the issues of overcrowding or impromptu remixing.

The full details for the tour are yet to be announced but Spektor has confirmed the visit with a post on Facebook: “Hi everyone!!!! I’m very excited to announce that I will be coming back to New Zealand and Australia in December!!! Soon we will give the link with show dates and ticket updates(sign up for mailing list on reginaspektor.com if you want early notices) big cheers from Spain!!!(i love you Madrid!!!thank you!)regi”

I believe it was PNAU who provided the backing beats at splendour

She's on The Doctor's show on Triple J today, so I think we can expect the specific dates to be announced then.

Not cheap, but to be expected. I'd love to go.

I would hardly call the plenary a romantic theatre venue, since last time was the palais.

I will be in NY, being overseas is almost saving me money from november/december gigs. play Falls though!

December's shaping up pretty nicely with this, Devo and Gotye. Sweet.
