Cancer Bats confirmed forSoundwave 2013

Cancer Bats were set to spill more blood on tour in Australia next month but they’ve now decided to cancel those shows and return for Soundwave 2013.

This means that rather than the planned East Coast tour the ferocious Canadians will play in Perth and Adelaide as well. If you had already picked up your ticket for the scheduled shows next month hold on to them – those tickets will now be valid for the band’s three SideWaves, which according to Soundwave will “feature a rather gargantuan line-up”.

Last seen in Australia back in 2010 supporting Bullet For My Valentine and Bring Me The Horizon, Cancer Bats’ new album Dead Set On Living was acclaimed by FL’s review as “an adrenaline rush from beginning to end”..

On their visit back in 2010 the band snuck in a headline show at Ding Dong in Melbourne, which FL was lucky to catch. Our reviewer noted that “Hardcore is a difficult genre to play live, given the need for balance and a little restraint to avoid pulverising any melody into undiscernible sludge. Cancer Bats don’t seem to struggle though, obviously possessing enough technical ability to refine the quickfire rhythms of songs like Sorceress and the scaling riffs of set highlight Scared To Death.”

Cancer Bats join the ever expanding Soundwave 2013 lineup which already includes Kingdom of Sorrow, The Blackout and Six Feet Under.

Glad they're playing Soundwave. They were excellent at a similar sideshow to the Ding Dong lounge set here in Adelaide.

Sorry BC but I'm happy about this.

It's not that bad, obviously, because I'm still going to see them, I'm just bummbed because it would have been in a few weeks and now it's not for about 8 months.

I couldn't make their headlining tour so I'm well stoked on this news.

I've only seen them on you tube, what album should I check out?

Hail Destroyer is probably the best place to start.

Their debut, Birthing The Giant is really raw and their new one, Dead Set On Living, is great as well.

Bears Mayors Scraps and Bones is probably their heaviest but I think it's a bit too long so I always rate it last ha ha

Hail Destroyer is killer, both album and song. They've been fantastic both times I've seen them live so they'll be great at Soundwave.
