Parklife 2012 lineup

It’s here! After months of waiting, rumours and a few inadvertent leaks, the Parklife 2012 lineup announcement has finally arrived. The spring festival institution hits Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide this September and October, and predictably it’s got a huge assembly of big names in tow.

With this year’s tour following a giant 2011 lineup that included Gossip, Lykke Li and Santigold alongside Little Dragon, the final shows for The Streets and the return of Death From Above 1979, Parklife has a lot to live up to. So does the 2012 edition live up to your expectations? Check out the lineup below and let us know what you think.

Parklife 2012 lineup:

The Presets

Robyn and Chairlift. Grrrrr8.

i think the fuzzy crew have covered a diverse range of acts as per usual (i.e. it's not 100% edm like stereo, etc). good to see! i'm keen.

It seems the fuzzy street team are either running out of names to come out with, or sending secret messages about the lineup in their names.

berlinchair101

So, Robyn is the token good act that won't get a sideshow?

I know next to nothing about EDM but with the amount of people blowing up about how good this is on my FB means it's a pretty shitty line up.

Highlight of the post-announce hype fest on triple j - When the 8.30 news reader raved about how great the festival is and how a few years ago he had an amazing time seeing Kanye and The Rapture at Parklife. Just one problem with that... it wasn't at Parklife.

I don't even think the street team realises that everyone realises they know they are the street team. It's like Cartman walking across the stage naked thinking nobody can see him.

jacegalvin

jacegalvin said on the 19th Jun, 2012

What are you talking about?
It's just a bunch of users who all happened to sign up to FL in June of this year and made their first post talking about how awesome Parklife is.
They seem to be the only ones to think it's good, but that doesn't mean anything.

knate

knate said on the 19th Jun, 2012

weak lineup is weak... but idiots keep paying money to fuzzy to go to their shows and see their recycled lineups so who really cares. Jacques Lu Cont and Chairlift i'd be keen to see though, just not there

something for everyone, a lineup that reflects the fun festival of the year signaling the start of summer and setting the precedent of what we can expect from the australian music scene. pretty sure the preset's new production will blow us away and really excited to see what direction that go in next. pretty sure they nailed our 3 favourite genre's with a great mix of dance, dubstep and live music. pretty sure this is going to sell like hot cakes. :)

This lineup is a lot better than the parklife lineup.

Robyn, Art Department and Lee Foss are the only acts I haven't seen before that I'd want to see...maybe Plan B. Presets, Rusko, Justice DJ set and Tame Impala are always good. Just saw Jacques Lu Cont in Paris last night thinking he'd never tour Aus? Random. Hopefully he is better at Parklife, was pretty generic last night. Accidentally hearing shit like Wiley, DJ Fresh, Nero and Chiddy Bang are potential day ruiners.

and hell yeah for flume scoring a spot.. that dude is destroying it right now.

I guess it's an ok lineup, nothing special though. Would be keen to see Robyn, The Presets, Passion Pit and Justice (more if it was a live show).

But are the Presets really big enough to headline? Last time they played a festival it was Future at around 4 in the afternoon. It seems like last year they had a few more bigger names.
