Fri 11th May, 2012 in Local News
Prince will be playing an after party at Sydney’s Ivy nightclub tomorrow night.
Ivy boss Justin Hemmes made the announcement on Twitter: “Just died and gone to heaven…PRINCEperforming at ivy tomorrow night…..yeeeewwwwww Prince tix just went on sale for tomorrow nights gig at ivy. Ticketek. Very limited numbers.”
Prince played ‘secret’ after-party shows on both his previous visits to Australia. In 2003 fans paid just $20 to see him at Melbourne’s tiny Bennett’s Lane club and Prince could also be seen jamming with his full band at The Basement in Sydney until 3am after his Entertainment Centre show. In 1992 he put on an after party at the old Palace in St Kilda.
Tickets for the Ivy after party, which will also feature DJ Rashida, are $75 (First release) or $100 (Second release). Tickets are on sale here
Although British singer Deliah announced on her last week on her Facebook “So honored to announce that I will be supporting PRINCE on his Australian tour this May! Dream come true…\” the promoters of the Prince tour, Chugg Entertainment, have advised fans heading to the show tonight (Friday 11th May) that “at this stage there will no support & our understanding is that the man himself will take to the stage at 8pm. Please note, times are approximate & subject to change. Enjoyyyyyy!”
