Kimbra teams up with FosterThe People and A-Trak

Proving she has well and truly moved on from that disastrous break-up with Gotye, SXSW darling Kimbra is teaming up with Mark from Foster The People and A-Trak on a tune for the Converse ‘Three Artists, One Song’ series.

Tilted Warrior the track will be available for free download on April 5th through the Journey’s website and is the seventh instalment of the series which has already snared the likes of Andrew W.K., Soulja Boy, Gorillaz, James Murphy and Andre 3000.

Writing about the collaboration process on her blog Kimbra said: “I retreated to my hotel room and worked away on this track via Skype with the lads and a very exciting song came out of it. There will be some exciting teasers coming soon from this collaboration (like sneak peeks from the video clip we recently shot in Los Angeles as well as pics of me and Mark Foster in the studio!!). I’m really stoked to be working with these guys as they are such talented producers and writers.”

And while working with Mark Foster is not going to do Kimbra’s rising US profile any harm, he is not the only yank keen to team-up with the Kiwi songbird. Speaking with Pedestrian last week Kimbra revealed she is currently collaborating on a new song with John Legend and has recently worked with Greg Kurstin and Mars Volta drummer Deantoni Park. My how she has grown!

While we wait to see what Kimbra and co come up with, here is that little collaboration from Gorillaz, James Murphy and Andre 3000 we mentioned:

I can see how it's going to be big, especially with our national radio station just itching to drive it into the ground. It's definitely the kind of song that's here today, gone tomorrow so to speak. I can't say I was the least bit enthralled by it, I just know that the audience that is lapping up the likes of 360 and Hilltop Hoods will tell themselves that they love this too.
