Radiohead Australian tour

After eight years of long years rumours, speculation and crossed fingers Radiohead will make their long-awaited return to Australian shores this November.

The band will play play just 5 shows on the East Coast – one in Brisbane and two each in Sydney and Melbourne. The lucky punters in Auckland also get a show – the first Radiohead show in New Zealand 14 years.

The tour announcement warns that “no shows will be added to the tour”.

Although the shows come off the back of their eighth studio release, The King Of Limbs, the band will use these long-overdue shows as a chance to “showcase the band’s multi-decade career in an aural and visual celebration.”

CHECK OUT FL’S PERFECT RADIOHEAD SET-LIST

Support comes from New Zealand’s Connan Mockasin, who had announced back in January that he’d be touring with Radionead later in the year.

Monday 12th November – Entertainment Centre, Sydney

I'm happy. We got a good setlist. Separator was the highlight for me.

I was chuffed when they wheeled the piano out and he started playing The Daily Mail. Thom's voice was amazing, especially noticeable on Nude.

ALSO THE LIGHTING SETUP DURING 15 STEP.

i really thought 24hrs after the event i would have come up with something to say. but i'm still pretty speechless. surprisingly enough The Daily Mail was probably one of the highlights. the song has been stuck in my head all day.

also the setlist should probably be change to True Love Waits being a separate track. he pretty much did the whole thing before starting EIIRP.

On a slightly unrelated note, I've never had General Admission to Rod Laver Arena for such a big concert, and was wondering if I could get the advice of the more experienced gig goers here.

If I wanted to have a really good position in the standing area, what time would you guys recommend I got there? Is there going to be long queues outside the external doors? or should I just turn up 30 minutes to an hour before the external doors open and make my way to my allocated door?

I'm really not sure about this because whenever I've been in standing its at much smaller gigs and venues... I've heard some people getting to Radiohead at around midday or before for this leg.

Any advice greatly appreciated!
