What's your best Soundwavemoment?

The Soundwave Festival is about to crash its way around Australia again and FasterLouder wants to find out what your most memorable Soundwave moments are.

The festival first appeared in Perth under the Gravity Soundwave banner back in 2004 with Good Charlotte headlining the show, but the things didn’t really kick off until 2007 when Deftones, ,Unwritten Law, The Bronx, Unwritten Law, MxPx and Parkway Drive took the show on the road adding Sydney and Brisbane to the tour.

Five years on, Soundwave has well and truly staked out its turf as the loudest angriest festival in Australia causing mosh pit carnage with the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Faith No More, Jane’s Addiction, Iron Maiden, Queens of the Stone Age and Slayer.

Was your greatest moment when you were caught in a Wall of Death? When Mike Patton shocked Chat-Roulette fans by logging in live on stage during a Faith No More headline set? Was it when Jane’s Addiction arrived on stage with their dancing girls? Or was it discovering your new favourite band way over on one of the side stages?

foxy shazam in sydney playing to about 20 people at first, and then by the end hundreds of slayer fans who obviously thought "well, let's see what else is on".

I loved seeing Unwritten Law and Unwritten Law in 2007! "blank space" were pretty good too that year

On a srs note, I'm torn between Fucked Up playing to barely anyone last year and absolutely slaying for a whole 30 minutes or Faith No More and their Chatroulette backdrop in 2010, even though the one person who liked what he saw got disconnected.

after seeing qotsa perform self-titled in its entirety, watching them play an unrelenting and brutal set at soundwave melbourne. the fact that they played almost entirely different yet equally impressive set lists made it even more amazing. and to top it off a dude in a wheelchair crowd surfed to the front of the crowd Josh had security bring him up on stage - EPIC

Probably while waiting for Billy Talent to come on, my mates and I saw Ian D'Sa (the guitarist) sidestage and we waved to him; he waved back.

Definately the last two headliners, Faith No More then Iron Maiden last year. This year, will most likely be the headliner as well, albeit of the "metal stage"

probably meeting davey havok at work the day after afi's sidewave. i know that's not technically a soundwave moment but it wouldn't have happened were they not here for the festival. also, seeing them on stage at sw the next day, knowing i'd had my arms around that strange, beautiful man just hours earlier was pretty special.
