Roger Daltrey cancelsBluesfest performance and tour

Roger Daltrey has cancelled his forthcoming tour of Australia, including an appearance on Monday 9th of April at Bluesfest.

A statement on the Chugg Entertainment website sites “unforeseen scheduling conflicts” as the reason behind the cancellation, and states that: “Mr Daltrey is sorry to disappoint his fans and hopes to reschedule tour dates in the near future.”

The iconic Who frontman had been confirmed to headline the final day of Bluesfest and play additional shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. Refunds are being offered for all shows, including tickets purchased for the Monday in Byron. Full details are available here.

While there has been no word of a replacement for Daltrey, Bluesfest set times now have Yes scheduled to headline the Mojo Stage.

the monday night slot is usually the signiture dish as well.. maybe one of the ther headliners will pay a second set.

Was anyone really that excited for him, though? I mean, his voice has been shot to death for years now. It just sounds like it would've been one of those sets where everyone goes "Well he's getting older now, he can't hold those notes, but good on him for trying anyway"

I saw him a number of years ago with Kelly Jones, Noel Gallacher and Paul Weller. They played a couple of who songs, a couple of sterophonics, oasis (including Songbird for which Liam came out), jam songs also.

For some reason they were supporting Richard Ashcroft, who was shit.

i was looking orward to him - not a huge fam of the who, but enough hit there to keep any one interested.

maybe a bit late for a quality replacement, given they have not sold out.
