Def FX 'reunion' tour dates

Fiona Horne launched a campaign to reform Def FX for a 15 year anniversary tour back in June last year and although her efforts to reform the band haven’t succeeded a new lineup of the band has organised three nostalgia shows on the east coast.

The band’s original keyboardist and vocalist Sean Lowry – who describes himself as “the founding member and principal conceptual backbone” of the band – won’t be a part of the new lineup, but Horne will be joined by Def FXs’ original bass player Martyn Basha for the shows.

Horne and Basha have also recruited two new members to round out the Def FX 2.0 lineup – Ant Banister, a founding member of Clan Analogue, and Wiley Cochrane, who is described in the press release as a “sonic metal rock guitarist” from NSW’s north coast.

Australia’s most famous Wiccan (and one time Playboy centrefold) had suggested last year that the reunion tour could possibly feature sets from The Mavis’s and Caligula, but sadly Horne’s magic doesn’t seem to be as powerful as it once was and neither act will be joining the tour. However the shows in Sydney and Melbourne will feature an opening set from industrial agit-rockers Insurge who had a triple j hit back in 1999 with I Hate Stupid People.

Truly psychoactive Def FX fans can snap up a’ VIP Meet And Greet’ ticket for just $99 and get themselves a limited edition tour t-shirt, 5 items signed, an ” Official Commemorative Meet and Greet Laminate”, a limited edition tour poster and the chance to actually meet Fiona Horne and Martyn Basha. These passes are strictly limited to 30 per show.
