In brief: BDO maps, SugarMountain timetable, UV Racesecret gig, SYN volunteers

Big Day Out is only weeks away now and while we already have timetables the festival has now released the 2012 maps. With new venues and stage layouts in some cities (including Melbourne) it is well worth checking out what is where.

Another very different festival is happening this weekend; Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain which will return to The Forum Theatre for only its second year. With headline sets from some very fine talent, including Deerhoof, Thee Oh Sees and Tune Yards it is shaping up to be one very special weekend. Check out the set times.

And in more Melbourne news, the highly unpredictable and awesomely talented U.V Race will be holding a secret show on a rooftop somewhere on Thursday 26th January. Details for the Australia Day BBQ/gig, including the venue and supports will be announced soon – so stay tuned.

SYN FM is a not for profit youth run media organisation that provides training and broadcast opportunities for young Australians. The starting ground for dozens of local radio hosts and music writers it is a great place to get your foot in the door and learn everything there is to know about broadcasting.
