Triple J has revealed its 2012 presenter lineup and announced that Music Director Richard Kingsmill is taking 6 months off to go travelling. Assistant Music Director Nick Findlay will step up into Kingsmill’s role until he returns mid-year to resume on air duties as host of the new music show 2012.
Ex j voice Linda Marigliano returns to the fold after three years in London to host a new evening show that will ”...focus on new music with a strong audience interaction and request element.” Happening each night from 6pm the unnamed show is the official replacement for Rosie Beaton’s canned Super Request.
Tom & Alex, The Doctor, Zan Rowe and Lewi McKirdy will all return to their respective shows in 2012, while summer fill-ins Veronica & Lewis will take over Weekend Breakfast for the first half of the year.
The j’s also announced last year’s ratings, reporting that the station enjoyed a 5 capital city reach of 1.462 million listeners a week and an average weekly share of 5.3% (including a 15% weekly share among 18-24 year olds) in 2011.
