Ben Kweller tour
Tue 13th Dec, 2011 in Local News
It wouldn’t be right to go a year without news of a visit from Ben Kweller. So with just a few weeks left before we hit 2012 it’s time for the much loved singer-songwriter to confirm that he’ll be making his way down the East Coast next March.
Next year will also see the release of Kweller’s new album Go Fly A Kite which he told FL about way back in September last year, explaining that Go Fly A Kite is “basically code for ‘go fuck yourself” and that the album is a gritty rock and roll record inspired by a “big falling-out with one of my best friends”.
Go Fly A Kite will be the first release for Kweller’s newly formed label The Noise Company. Kweller says that “The Noise Co. is another step in creating my own system. It gives me the opportunity to work directly with people in the industry who were previously ‘off-limits’… There’s a lot of geeky stuff involved, but as a die-hard music junkie and record collector, these things get me excited! It’s the real deal, not just an artist self-releasing his music. We have a real staff, real funding, real distribution, and I look forward to eventually helping other artists achieve their goals too.”
Following the recent tour announcement by The Manchester Orchestra Kweller is the second act to announce an East Coast tour playing at all three Hi-Fi venues on their Shoreline Series and celebrating the opening of the new Hi-Fi in Sydney.
