Lamb of God announce Sidewaves

Following the announcement of sideshows for Enter Shikari, Machine Head and Mastodon, more Sidewaves have been announced for Virginia biker-metal mainstays Lamb of God in the unlikely areas of Brisbane and Canberra.

Last here in support of Metallica on the second leg of their World Magnetic tour in November of last year, Australia will be one of the first places that Lamb of God play in support of their seventh studio album, entitled Resolution and due for release in late January. The band have a strong following in Australia, with the reviewer of their last Sydney appearance noting that the band “dominated the huge stage with Randy Blythe strolling back and forth with mic in hand and drummer Chris Adler mounted on a raised platform blowing out eardrums with thunderous grooves.”

For the shows, the band are joined by Swedish veterans In Flames and punishing death-metal quintet The Black Dahlia Murder. In Flames were last in the country back in 2009 – fittingly enough, supporting Lamb of God for Sidewaves – whilst The Black Dahlia Murder’s most recent visit came in July of 2010, opening for Unearth. They bring with them their latest album, Ritual, described by our reviewer as “elentless onslaught right from the beginning… uncompromising until the very end.”

Lamb of God, In Flames and The Black Dahlia Murder Sidewaves:
Tuesday 28th February – Eaton Hill Hotel, Brisbane [LIC/AA]
Thursday 1st March – UC Refectory, Cenberra [LIC/AA]

Tickets on sale Friday 16th December
