Manchester Orchestra sideshows

Manchester Orchestra return to our shores in March as part of the Playground Weekender festival lineup with their new album Simple Math.

The band will play sideshows on the East Coast as part of the Hi-Fi Shoreline Series, with a run of dates at Hi-Fi venues that celebrates the opening of new Hi-Fi in Sydney.

The band has visited us twice before but this will be their first run of Australian shows since 2009, when they played Splendour and a few “intense and powerful” sideshows .

Manchester Orchestra sideshows:
Sunday 4th March – Hi-Fi, Sydney
Tuesday 6th March – Hi-Fi, Brisbane
Wednesday 7 March – Hi-Fi, Melbourne

Tickets on sale Monday 12th December

i doubt these shows will sell out should be playing the zoo again, and possibly the metro. Going from the zoo and oxford arts to the hi fi is a pretty big move on tour promoters behalf but then again it's by the same touring company who thought circa survive could fill the metro (they didn't)

that's why thursday won't sell that fast, although it's a final tour a lot of people just stopped caring a long time ago about them. same with saves and circa.

Just got back then. Holy shit they were amazing! Easily going to end up in my 'best of' list at the end of the year.

I thought I should comment on how great the HiFi is as well, the sound was the best I've heard in a Sydney venue for a long time. The vocals were so crisp and during the quiet parts of songs the crowd remained silent; I loved how there wasn't constant talking throughout the set.

How good was that?! Fucking great gig! Had so much fun. Chris is the best keyboardist to watch of all time. Head banging like he is playing in Slayer.

Also loved the Hi-Fi. The sound was probably up there with the best I've heard.

Highlight for the Beach Road show was seeing the drummer so spent about half way through the show he was drenched in sweat and leaning on his kit to get a rest.....put everything he could in.
