What would you change aboutSplendour?

While there is at least 15 festivals to get through before Splendour In The Grass rolls around again, the festival’s promoters are already busy planning their 2012 event and want your help in doing so.

If you have spent the last five months clogging forums with vitriolic rants about what you loved and loathed about Splendour this year – then now is the time to say something that people will actually read.

Splendour In The Grass have posted up a public questionnaire to find out what factors are important to you to ensure an awesome festival – environment, venue, friends, the list goes on. They also ask a number of questions about Splendour 2011 and want its attendees to rate the importance of certain artists including, Jane’s Addiction, Coldplay and Kanye West.

So if you are sick mouthing off in the FL forums, head over to the Splendour survey and have your say about next year’s event. You could even win tickets to Splendour ‘12.

A few things.

1. More sluzzas. Sluzzas are great coz they walk around all sluzza-y and makes me feel good in my pants
2. Less shitty British bands. You can take your Elbows and Snow Patrols and Coldplays and shove it up your arse. I want freakin' Godspeed to play
3. A bigger tent. This is my own fault but I've learnt my lesson
4. Less douchebags. Kinda like the opposite of point 1
5. Me djing. Come on Splendour, make that shit happen
6. Communal showers, Big Brother-style
7. The Living End to play 6-hour sets all 3 days
8. Kitties
9. Boobies
10. Partying with the FL cunce

Best Question

And still waving that magic wand, which ONE band would you MOST want to see at the festival? Please do not include any dead performers and also please do not include Radiohead or Arcade Fire as we already know everybody wants to see them and we try every year to get them!

Would like this, and every other Australian festival, to implement both the "tops on" and "No Dickheads" policies.

That's about it.

Surely if you make the second one a rule, the first one becomes redundant.

I'd be amazed if the three main points of feedback aren't reduce ticket prices, move back to byron and shun expensive mainstream headliners.

The lay-by system ("Book Now, Pay Later") that Future has for next year would be nice, given the cost of Splendour tickets.

I don't mind it staying at Woodford, but just as happy it going back to Byron. Either location is about the same distance from Brisbane.
I would change 2 things though:
drop prices and go back to 2 days (sat/sun) not 3
less mainstream (and therefore expensive) headliners

01seb's Top Five Splendour Tips:

Keep it at Woodford
Reduce prices through getting headliners that don't cost you the majority of your budget
Expand the GW McLeenan Tent and move it further away from the Mix Up Tent
Fix the sound in the Mix Up Tent
Don't increase the crowd numbers

If you move it out of Queensland will that eradicate the bogan problem?

imo it would take something pretty special in the byron site to warrant losing the ampitheatre. i like what they have going at the moment and only really had the lower ticket prices/less mainstream headliners constructive criticism to add

Yeah the Amphitheatre is an amazing venue, dunno why you would wanna move it from there.
