Groovin’ the Moo 2012 dates

Groovin’ the Moo got Gotye, The Wombats, UNKLE, Cut Copy and a heap of other great bands out into the country air for a run of sold out shows early this year, and festival will be back in May 2012 to do it all again.

Groovin’ the Moo promoter Stephen Halpin says that the 2012 lineup is coming together “very nicely with an exciting selection of locals joined by a great bunch of international acts – including a couple that have never toured Australia before.”

We have a few months of speculation before the lineup is revealed in early February.

Groovin’ the Moo 2012 dates:

Saturday 5th May – Prince of Wales Showground, Bendigo
Sunday 6th May– Murray Sports Complex, Townsville
Saturday 12th May – Showgrounds, Maitland
Sunday 13th May – University of Canberra
Saturday 19th May – Hay Park, Bunbury

Groovin' always manages to put together good lineups, the announcement of the lineup must be soon?
what bands can we expect to see?

Isn't the announcement usually around late January/early February?

Off the top of my head, Phoenix have a new album in the works. They'd be about the right size for a GTM headliner.

Following a sold-out tour in 2011, Groovin The Moo will be back in 2012 to swing by Bendigo, Townsville, Maitland, Canberra and Bunbury.

Festival organisers today revealed the dates for next year's festival while promising another epic line up for the eighth instalment of GTM.

"The lineup is coming together very nicely with an exciting selection of locals joined by a great bunch of international acts - including a couple that have never toured Australia before," says promoter Stephen Halpin.

The 2012 line up will be revealed on triple j in February. In the meantime, these are the dates for your 2012 diary:
