Black Keys tour (kinda)
Fri 25th Nov, 2011 in Local News
The Black Keys nixed their Australian tour at the last minute earlier this year citing “exhaustion” as their excuse and they still haven’t made up for the cancelled shows. While they were recovering from exhaustion they managed to find the energy to record a new album and they’re releasing it during the end of year rush of Christmas albums, reissues and best of compilations.
They could promote the record by announcing a tour… but just thinking about that seems kinda tiring, so instead they’re sending the title star of their new album El Camino to tour instead. (For unknown reasons the cover of the album features a Chrysler minivan rather than a El Camino, but anyway…)
The El Camino will cough exhaust along the 3000km journey down the East Coast stopping in at the Big Pineapple, Big Oyster, Big Red Back, Big Mango and Big Potato and visit a few record stores giving you the chance to grab some Black Keys merch and have a sneaky listen to the album before its official release.
Just like a real tour, huh?
