Wagons, Gotye lead the 2011 EGaward winners

Outlaw country posse Wagons have taken home the two big prizes at the EG Awards in Melbourne, winning Best Band and Best Album for Rumble, Shake and Tumble
More than 81,000 votes were cast in the poll conducted by the The Age’s entertainment guide, which (according to The Age ) makes it the largest public voted music poll in Australia.
Other winners on the night included Gotye (Best Male Artist, Best Song, and Outstanding Achievement), Royal Headache (Best New Talent), Clare Bowditch (Best Female Artist), Dave Graney & the Lurid Yellow Mist (Best Victorian Band) and Blondie & the Pretenders (Best Tour).
Hoodoo Gurus were inducted into the Steve Waldon Hall of Fame, alongside long-time Triple R presenter Stephen “The Ghost” Walker. The Gurus and Walker join previous inductees Paul Kelly, TISM, Painters & Dockers, Kim Salmon and Died Pretty in the Hall of Fame.
