They weren't MAB - The Oasis gigs were $73 but that was back in 2005 though. The Noel solo gigs a year later were $80 from memory...

Now you must tell us that you disapprove of them and why we would be so much better off without them touring here.

i'm up watching football/tennis/f1 tonight so won't be up at 9am. i'm a little annoyed that the Enmore floor has been divided into 2 with no price difference. hoping it turns out like A+J stone and they don't have a barrier despite having Floor1 and Floor2 tickets. even then i'm not fussed, never a bad spot at the Enmore.

Aidan1234567

Aidan1234567 said on the 27th Nov, 2011

they rarely ever, ever have the barricade, I've been there so 5 times and i dont think they ever had it except maybe once but im not 100% sure on that despite always having Floor 1 & Floor 2 tickets

ThatDude123

ThatDude123 said on the 27th Nov, 2011

I heard that they can only have the barrier up now when it's at capacity (thus validating the original reason to have it; to protect the floor) because during a recent emergency check it was deemed an OH&S hazard.

Big Day Out organisers have announced two more amazing side shows - Kanye West and Soundgarden. Tickets go on sale for all shows at 9am AEDT on Tuesday 6 December.

Kanye West has rewritten the rulebook of music and had more impact on the world of hip-hop in the 2000s than any other rapper or producer. He is a controversial, outspoken, acclaimed visionary and the only place to see him in Australia is as part of the 2012 Big Day Out.

Kanye West BDO side shows:

Sydney: Sydney Entertainment Centre
Friday, 27 January, 2012
Tickets: www.ticketmaster.com.au, www.bigdayout.com

Melbourne: Sidney Myer Music Bowl
Tuesday, 31 January, 2012
Tickets: www.ticketmaster.com.au, www.theartscentre.com.au, www.bigdayout.com

When Big Day Out was born 20 years ago, a new wave of music was emerging from the American north-west. At the crest of that wave was one of the most incendiary heavy rock bands of our time: Soundgarden. It's been 15 years since they last graced our shores and the first time since 1997 that Soundgarden will perform outside of the USA!

Soundgarden will be joined on these side shows by very special guests, The Bronx. This LA quintet churn out raw riffs and piercing hooks, the band channels their kinetic live energy through razor sharp wit and unbridled aggression. No sombreros or alter egos here just the straight up power of The Bronx.

Soundgarden + The Bronx BDO side shows:

Sydney: Sydney Entertainment Centre
Wednesday, 25 January, 2011
Tickets: www.ticketmaster.com.au, www.bigdayout.com

Melbourne: Sidney Myer Music Bowl, MELBOURNE
Wednesday, 1 February, 2011
Tickets: www.ticketmaster.com.au, www.theartscentre.com.au, www.bigdayout.com

Tickets go on sale for all shows at 9am AEDT on Tuesday 6 December.

Interesting. If the Mariachi El Bronx sideshow is on the same night as the Bronx's support slot with Soundgarden. Why and how are they going to do two sets? I know the two venues aren't too far from each other but it seems a bit weird.

ThatDude123

ThatDude123 said on the 27th Nov, 2011

If a band can't do two sets in two different but very close places on one night then they can fuck right out of the way of bands who'll actually work for their money.

I imagine their headline gig will probably start fairly late.

A few weeks ago, I saw You Am I at the Annandale on the same night they supported Cold Chisel at All Phones Arena. They came on stage at 11pm at the Annandale.

Late for a school night. Particularly if in this case, school night actually isn't just a eumphemism for work.

That's the thing: it's the casual attendees who usually drive up the prices, not the die-hards, because they'd prefer to pay a higher price at their own time than go through the inconvenience of refreshing at 8:59am when they should be starting school/uni/work.
