Erykah Badu's first Australianheadline tour

Reigning Queen of soul and sass Erykah Badu has just announced her first ever headline Australian tour, kicking off at none other than the Sydney Opera House in February next year.

Badu will be putting on two shows at Sydney’s esteemed Concert Hall, one at the Palais Theatre in Melbourne and a final stop at the Kings Park in Perth. The performances come complete with a ten-piece band, over a decade’s worth of R&B, hip-hop and jazz material and for Melbourne and Perth, support by Fat Freddys Drop.

If the classy venues and ten-piece band weren’t tip off enough that Badu takes music pretty seriously, cast your mind back to this time last year, when the singer blasted on her Twitter “How y’all gone stand by and let our music turn into pop techno cornball ass music?” Probably a pretty safe bet that the tour is going to be top-shelf and lip-sync free.

Erykah Badu tour::

Sunday 19th February – Sydney Opera House, Sydney
Monday 20th February – Sydney Opera House, Sydney
Wednesday 22nd February – Palais Theatre, Melbourne
Saturday 25th February – Kings Park & Botanic Garden, Perth

Tickets on sale Monday 14th November.
