How many teeth will Shane MacGowan be bringing?

Ouch.

MMJ were here in 09, The Pogues were here in 89. Think I'll go with the latter, despite being at Festival Hall (shudder).

True, but when I saw Shane and the Popes a few years back it was a bit of a mess. The question is "Can we trust Shane?"

RAMONESelaar

I get the feeling he's one of those musos who needs a precise amount of alcohol to perform well. So the important question is: Can we trust his minders/tour manager to get the amount right?

does it seem like the hordern is a bit too small for the pogues?
i might be wrong but i think these tickets are gonna sell out in minutes.

I'm thinking the Hordern is too big.

to big as in they won't play well there or too big as in they won't sell it out?
i think i probably misjudged how popular they are then.

I'm guessing he meant that it won't sell out, I can't imagine them selling out Festival Hall either. Wouldn't be surprised to see it downgraded to the Palace

Interesting, but the articles from Sunday October 30 2011 - would they really announce a tour after Shane had pulled out? (Fuckihopenot!)

RAMONESelaar

RAMONESelaar said on the 3rd Nov, 2011

Yeah, I was a bit perplexed by the date of the article too. Surely the promoters wouldn't book them if the issues weren't cleared up. (That said, most tours are organised a while in advance, so maybe they're just hoping for the band to keep it together?)

So are The Pogues going to tour without Shane, who would want to see that?
This has put me off buying a ticket, any statement from Mr Noble?

Spicy McHaggis

Or SC Trash.

kaydee

kaydee said on the 9th Feb, 2012

yeah i thought they'd pick up the support slot for sure. too similar maybe? no matter, just means more beers at the fox & lion i guess.

ThatDude123

Irish punk band + shitty support = the fox and lion is going to do crazy amount of business that night.

Spicy McHaggis

Spicy McHaggis said on the 9th Feb, 2012

Rumjacks might still do the Sydney show.

RAMONESelaar

RAMONESelaar said on the 9th Feb, 2012

I figured The Ramshackle Army would be a chance too, but they're heading to the US around that time instead.

Do Barons Of Tang seem like a really odd fit, or is it just me?

grattan

grattan said on the 28th Feb, 2012

From the promoters - If you are planning on hitting The Pogues in Melbourne, there are only two tickets left at Festival hall. Sydney is almost sold out as well so don't snooze on this one if you haven't got your tickets!

Spicy McHaggis

Hope all of you going will have a great time!

My liver hurts.

Shane looked like a 90 year old man up there. It was really sad. He couldn't talk even. But god he still could sing

Tbh the best moments were when Spider was singing his tunes
