The Mars Volta's OmarRodriguez Lopez to tour Oz

One half of the creative force behind The Mars Volta, Omar Rodriguez Lopez and Mexican garage punks Le Butcherettes are set to tour Australia this December.
The announcement comes via Omar himself who posted the following message on his official Facebook this afternoon: “Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group & Le Butcherettes Official are heading to Australia for a TOUR together in December 2011 – Blizzard of Oz.”
Last on our shores to show off horse heads and discover the new sound at Splendour In The Grass, this visit would be a chance for Rodriguez Lopez to show off his extensive back-catalogue of solo work. A prolific musician, film maker and writer the Mars Volta guitarist has released over twenty solo albums since 2004, including a whopping ten records last year.
If the idea of getting to know Omar’s entire back-catalogue before he reaches our shores is all too overwhelming then just pick up a copy of Telestrion, an anthology of his greatest work from seventeen different albums released earlier this year.
