Swedish sister duo First Aid Kit will play a run of sideshows when they reach our shores for Golden Plains next March. Johanna and Klara were last in Australia for a fly-by tour in mid-2010 and will return next year armed with tunes from their forthcoming album The Lion’s Roar.
First Aid Kit sideshows:
Wednesday 14th March – Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
Thursday 15th March – The Standard, Sydney
Friday 16th March – The Zoo, Brisbane

With a fifteen year break between records, expectations were high when Urge Overkill released their new album Rock & Roll Submarine, not that Nash Kato would care what anyone else thought, ever. For those that do care, however, the record is living up to the hype and fans will get chance to hear the news tunes in March when the 90s legends play the following sideshows. And if didn’t get a chance to see just how “fucking amazing” they were last time, we strongly suggest you don’t miss out again.
Urge Overkill sideshows:
Thursday 8th March – The Espy, Melboure
Friday 9th March – The Zoo, Brisbane
Saturday 10th March – TheGaelic, Sydney
The Eagle of Soul Mr Charles Bradley is headed our ways to get Golden Plains in a lather with his unmistakable grooves and legendary voice next March. While in town the unique soul man will also play a run of sideshows to show off tunes from this year’s exceptional record No Time For Dreamers.
Charles Bradley sideshows:
Saturday 10th March – The Hi Fi, Melbourne
Monday 12th March, The Powerhouse – Brisbane
Friday 16th March – The Factory, Sydney
Sunday 18th March – Corner Hotel, Melbourne

While these new Harmony dates don’t really constitute sideshows, the band is playing Golden Plains, so here they are. In just 12 months the Melbourne six-piece have released a 7 inch and an AIR nominated record. Reviewing the album’s launch in August our FL writer summed it up: “The intensity and power of their delivery was, at times, tiring and discomforting, but the impact was huge and lasting.”
Harmony tour:
Friday 25th November – The Pot Belly Bar, Canberra
Saturday 26th November – FBI Social, Sydney
Friday 2nd December – X&Y Bar, Brisbane
Saturday 3rd December – The Waiting Room, Brisbane
Saturday 17th December – The Phoenix Public House, Melbourne
