Grouplove sideshows

Announced yesterday on the ever-expanding Falls Festival line-up, Californian indie kids Grouplove will also play five sideshows while in town this December.

When playing Splendour back in July the band won over many fans as “their upbeat tunes [provided] the perfect cure for those suffering the effects of excess indulgence from the night before.” This time around the quintet come armed with a whole album’s worth of tunes having just released their debut LP Never Trust A Happy Song, an “especially fun collection of songs owed to their formidable pop-rock prowess.”

I thought they were pretty good. I enjoyed their gig.

They possibly got a little overshadowed by Young the Giant who were positively great.

Missed most of their set at splendour but what I saw was great. Bit disappointed I won't be able to head along to their show though (already have something on that night).

I guess gumbuoy correctly assumed that most people would get the gist of his comment by saying we get back to the country rather than my fiance and I get back to the country.

I don't think it has anything to do with bitchwhipping.

If I go to a gig on a Saturday night, I might say We went to the pub first and then arrived at the gig at 9pm. I don't think it matters that I don't mention who the we is. It isn't really important.

Tickets are $55 in Brisbane. I do enjoy the album but not sure if I enjoy it that much.. Are they worth it people?

Wow, didn't expect it to be that expensive. Was hoping for under $50 at least.. Will probably still attend anyway

Their Sydney show was $50.50 this year.

It's borderline. You don't get that many touring bands who are much cheaper than that really. I'd probably say worth it because quibbling over less than $10 seems silly.

Caribou & Four Tet were $47 earlier in the year. Pretty much what I compare small-medium sized tours to price wise. Might head along to the Byron show for my birthday.

Remember how Tom 'n Adele took ages going back to the campsite? I kept trying to get them to hurry up then they were too slow, so I just left and made it back in time for the latter half of their set. But yeah, was a relaxing beginning to the day on that hill!
