From its humble beginnings, Future Music Festival has morphed into a colossal beast of an event and it’s back again in 2012 for another year of dance goodness.

You probably already knew that The Rapture had been confirmed and that Jessie J had announced some tour dates that looked suspiciously like they were timed to coincide with the festival, but the full lineup is now out for your summer festival budget consideration.

You are confusing critical acclaim with commercial appeal. I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the Future Music crowd had never heard of Aphex Twin.

Unless you were into electronic music in the '90s or stay up watching a lot of rage, you probably don't know much about Aphex Twin.

After seeing Odd Future earlier this year, I don't think Frank Ocean would even be suited to performing on stage with them (them = teenagers yelling into their microphones and jumping into the crowd, occasionally threatening to fight people.)

If you want to see Frank sing, then it's better this way.

I've never listened to Die Antwoord, I think I just got turned off by the "rap rave" label, even though I don't know even know what it means. I'm hoping for Aphex Twin and Hercules & Love Affair sideshows.

I used to listen to Angello, Ingross and Axwell (as well as Prydz), a few years ago. They did have some good productions (mainly Prydz under his Pryda and Cirez D monikers, and Axwell). But I dunno, the SHM have had their tracks on the MoS Annuals each year, and it seems to me like 2005 and 2006 were the last good MoS Annuals (or I was younger and less of a snob then).

But basically, I wouldn't bother seeing the Swedish House Mafia.

i didnt think the wombats fit in at future until i saw someone fist pumping while stamping one leg in the seat next to me. the guy was barely in his seat as he was mostly at the bar, and then during tokyo he fist pumped so hard he hit the guy in front, and the guy was pissed.

I probably should've asked this before getting tickets, but just out of curiosity as I've yet to go to Future before, and I've seen a lot of posts bagging out Future &/or the crowds there, what makes it worse than your average festival to most people here? Is it just the type of crowd it attracts? As I can't see how it'd be much worse than some types that you get to BDO/Parklife etc. from my experiences. Or is it more on the security/facilities/water/prices etc. side of things?

Also, I'm going to the Melbourne one if that makes any difference.

Only the main stage sound is atrocious, the outdoor stages are simply mediocre. LOY and trance stages will be sweet. Also it's full of Jersey Shore d bags and agressive roiders but again, stick to LOY and trance stages and you'll be sweet.

With now less than 4 weeks to go until the tour begins, we are are proud to announce that the 2nd Release ticket allocation is almost exhausted in Sydney, with Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide following closely behind.
