Aloe Blacc sideshows

Update: (30/11/11)
Due to scheduling issues the Adelaide show has been cancelled and the Melbourne date has changed date and venue from the Palace on the 1st of January to the Trak on the 6th.

Soul sensation Aloe Blacc will be back in Australia to celebrate the New Year with sets at the Falls and Southbound festivals, plus a run of hangover curing sideshows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Adelaide.

The ‘Good Things’ tour sees Aloe Blacc making a huge leap up from his club tour earlier this year, which proves that Australian punters love soul covers of Velvet Underground tracks (and probably don’’t mind that I Need A Dollar tune either)

Aloe Blacc will be joined at all shows by soulful Australian trio Electric Empire and his wife Maya Jupiter.

Aloe Blacc sideshows:
Tuesday 3rd January – The Tivoli, Brisbane (18+)
Wednesday 4th January – Enmore Theatre, Sydney (All Ages)
Friday 6th January – The Trak, Melbourne
Friday 6th January – Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide (All Ages) Cancelled

Tickets on sale Friday 7th October

So what you're saying is that you need a dollar?

Dude's strangely big on Nova now. He's in with a shot...but still, Metro/Factory would've been better.

Basement would have been perfect.

He'll fill the Enmore. All these tweens all over my facebook have been posting his songs for weeks- that's usually a pretty good sign someone's fan base has grown exponentially.

Why are you facebook friends with lots of tweens?

I know you're young, but you're not that young.

There you are. Along with "closeted," we can add "paedophile" to your list of traits.

Just girls from my high school still in high school. The people I'm referring to as tweens are probably around 17/18 but same same

No real surprises about the changes. Can't speak for Adelaide but the Palace was always a wildly ambitious choice of venue imo

Electric Empire as support makes it good value for money

I like the rest of the album. Received many spins.

Would attend the Brisbane show if I was here then.

Ive seen 4 bands in the last 3 days.
Aloe Blacc was awesome, but I still prefer the other 3 bands more

From Japan, I saw Mountain Mocha Kilimanjaro. Check them out when they come around. Theyre playing some of the best funk music around.
From Melbourne, Aloc Blacc's support, Electric Empire. Can't rave about this band enough.
and the other one is Cheap Fakes from the Sunshine Coast who are a funk/soul/ska band that are incredibly tight.

Now all I need is Easy Star All-Stars to come up with the goods tomorrow night and it will have been a pretty perfect first week of 2012

Wouldn't be surprised if they cut off the mezzanine for tonight's show - such a poor seller from what I've heard.
