More Big Day Out rumours

Music reporter Nui Te Koha, who does get an occasional ‘leak’ correct, told the listeners of Triple M’s breakfast show this morning that My Chemical Romance are “pretty much secured” for next years Big Day Out. He also threatened to cause a riot in the “nuffin’ but rawk” world of Triple M by daring to mention that “ Foster the People, The Shins and Cage The Elephant are all set to play the BDO as well”.

Of course Nui Te Koha has previously claimed that Kasabian are confirmed for the festival and had also tipped Prince and Blink-182 for the festival, before deciding that Blink’s flight troubles would rule them out from touring Australia “any time soon”.

According to the Big Day Out Spy we can also expect to see The Vaccines, Boy and Bear, Florence and the Machine, Josh Pyke, and The Decemberists on the lineup.

He has also repeated/backed up the rumour that The Strokes are “on the table for the Future Music festival in March next year. They were supposed to be here for Foo Fighters in December but the deal didn’t quite work out so they’re on the bill for the Future Music festival.” Apparently he’s also “hearing that Duran Duran are a possibility for Summadayze or the Future Music festival as well. Duran Duran were supposed to play wineries and there were talks about that but it looks like they’re going to go to a dance festival.”

Update:
Nui Te Koha announced on Triple M on Wednesday 14th September that “There have been internet rumours on top of other rumours. Pearl Jam, My Chemical Romance and Kasabian are pretty much locked in, but the internet is saying Radiohead, System Of The Down [sic] and The Killers.”
