Tex Perkins, all night long
Thu 25th Aug, 2011 in Local News
Rock icon, lounge singer, children’s entertainer – Tex Perkins is by all means a man of many faces. This month fans of the Beasts of Bourbon frontman will be treated to a double dose of Tex when he takes to the stage for back-to-back performances in Sydney and Melbourne.
The ‘Tex Perkins – All Night Long’ shows will see Perkins open the night’s proceedings playing whiskey soaked country classics with The Band of Gold, made up of the very same players who supported him on the ‘The Man in Black’ tour in 2009.
Following a quick interval Tex will reemerge with his Dark Horses- Charlie Owen and Joel Silbersher – to play tunes from their new self-titled album. Chock full of brooding country tunes it is a record on which Perkins purportedly, “Pulls you down to the bottom with him on a dark musical journey and his final moments of revelation and redemption are your reward for staying with him.” Sounds about right.
Catch Tex Perkins ‘All Night Long’ at these shows:
Thursday 13th October – Factory Theatre, Sydney
Saturday 15th October – National Theatre, Melbourne
