Falls adds another six bands

The fifth instalment of the Falls 2012 lineup drip-feed sees another six acts – CSS, John Butler Trio, Kimbra, Scratch Perverts, An Horse and The Head & The Heart – joining the bill.

The announcement might be a little frustrating for you if you missed out tickets for the sold out Lorne festival, which dispeared in just 90 minutes this morning, but you can still get Marion Bay tickets.

CSS all ages show would be good. I agree with MAB, they were actually a highlight over the two days of BDO I went to :)

Triple j are saying 'final acts' and they're presenting it so looks like that's that. All sold out in Lorne now anyway.

Must be more bands coming, didn't count Falls bands, but Southbound has 32 bands over 2-days across 3-stages... nowhere near enough.

Apparently Death Cab were rumoured for Falls so hopefully that happens. I don't want them on the Foo's tour.

Ok, Ok - Triple J announced that they were the final acts - but they're clearly wrong.

The Falls schedule has the day by day lineups and say that there are more to be added

By the time HSC hits me next year, I'll be 18. Fun, well at least I can go to Good Vibes, Homebake, Laneway and Future after that. I'll be making the trip to Falls Festival as well :)

I started my HSC year when I was 15 and finished at 16 - I had two years out of school before I could even go to a gig! Try that on for size! :p

Haha yes, being his biggest fan, he went to BDO 2009/2010, Gary Numan, The Police, some festivals in Coffs. He is also attending Eskimo Joe, the only band which takes pity for Coffs.

I've been to 25 gigs/festivals so far (representing 54 different bands). I've kept a list of every one I've been to, although there aren't many! :D

Firstly I must ask, are you a convicted internet stalker? :p In answer to your question though, I started my HSC in 2008 (the HSC year starts in Term 4 of one year and finishes at the end of Term 3 in the next) and finished in 2009. I did it all at an actual bricks and mortar school though, nothing online.

I did a few units in year 11. It was great in year 12 because it meant I had a truckload of study periods.

I started school at 4 and skipped year 2. Basically everyone at my school finished at 19 and I went through almost my entire schooling with a peer group 3 years older than me. It helped so much in sport things like that though, I was playing rugby league and getting in brawls with dudes way older than me so I adapted pretty quickly. :p

wonder what size venues Fleet Foxes will do. how much has their popularity grown since last visit when they sold out Metro sized venues pretty fast?? i would think maybe 2 nights at the Enmore in sydney.

Fleet Foxes won't be headlining. I'd guess that there would be at least 12-18 more acts to come (+ DJ's) and they would include both international and aussie acts just as the previous announcements have. At the moment that 2nd last night in Lorne looks a bit bare going into the night it will look like Metronomy followed by the Kooks followed by Pnau. They will definitely have another headliner fitting in their somewhere. Last time the Kooks played it went Kooks @ about 9pm, Cat Empire, Hives.

just looking back at past years. each line up seems to have 1 hordern filler and at least 1 enmore filler.

2010 - The National @ Hordern (could've done that but chose to do Enmore) Interpol @ Enmore, Public Enemy @ Enmore

well what i'm saying is that people shouldn't think that AM and FF are not big enough to headline Falls. they're just as big as headliners from the last few years. Yeah Yeah Yeahs are probably the only headliners to sell out the venue in the last few Falls fests.

and we don't know how close AM are to selling out the Hordern.

last year there were 62 acts over the three main days at lorne.

so far only 35 have been announced for this year. there's plenty more to come.

I was hoping they'd be Falls, but either BDO or Laneway would be just fine. As long as they play the Metro again and fuck up everybody's shit - last time around was one of the best gigs I've ever been to.

I am ashamed to admit I didn't really even know who they were when they were here for BDO 2009. I just happened to walk in to the green stage to get some shade (it was 43 farken degrees that day) right as they started playing Wolf Like Me. All I could think was 'What the fuck is this and where has it been all my life!'. Instant fan-boy.

Forgetting Joan Jett / Klaxons and Moby / Hilltop Hoods from those years. Dunno if/where they played sideshows but they were at the top of the falls billing as well.
