Bands confirmed for Soundwave2012

CHECK OUT THE FULL OFFICIAL LINEUP NOW

The Soundwave 2012 lineup was supposed to be announced just before Van Halen’s set at Soundwave Revolution in September. Obviously with the cancellation of the Revolution that plan has now been scrapped and it appears that the drip-feed style announcement of the Soundwave 2012 festival lineup has begun.

According to Maddah roughly 15 to 20 out of the 60 bands on Soundwave 2012 tour will be acts originally booked for the Revolution and the full lineup for the festival is likely to be announced during the Counter-Revolution mini-festival tour.

The first major announcement will be made on Friday 7th October and will feature 62 bands. A supplementary announcement of another 10 to 15 bands will be announced in December.

Soundwave 2012 lineup drip feed:

the thing that does make this better than the bdo lineup is the mixture. mastodon, alter bridge, cky, sisters of mercy, hole, hellyeah, machine head... i'm not saying i like all those bands i'm just saying at least the mixture is there!!

when i complained about the bdo lineup people went "just because your top 20 fave bands aren't there!!" and it's not that at all...
i do not mind a bunch of bands i don't know playing these festivals as long as there's some diversity. bdo is like "indie, indie, indie, indie, indie, indie, rap, indie, soundgarden, indie, indie"

Jose Cuervo

Jose Cuervo said on the 3rd Oct, 2011

So insensitive.

It is in actual fact my 17th birthday today.

And in terms of this impossible bloody line-up.

For headliner 2/3 has to be Slipknot.

Headliner one I'm thinking AC/DC could be right despite AJs comments (Maiden style hype- saying theyre not playing then dropping a mind fuck)

or a reformed Black Sabbath, he was apparently in talks for them for SWR. Ruled out Ozzy, not Sabbath.
Also, Iommi famously never fully denied that Sabbath were rehearsing.

My 2 cents.

Happy Birthday. I predict you'll get these gifts today. Bold is more likely

An NZ Rugby jersey
A card with money in it
Poor fitting clothing
a voucher to a store you only occassionally visit
A plethora of facebook messages from people who hardly remember friending
A call from a relative that will play out awkwardly
Cake
The band Cake
Some bad internet jokes
The one thing you actually wanted
