Henry Rollins tour imminent
Thu 11th Aug, 2011 in Local News
The last time that punk-icon turned author/actor/producer/talker Henry Rollins was down under he was celebrating his 50th birthday by “evincing some imperfect pearls of ancient wisdom” on his fans. The tour was a whirlwind one, which saw Hank performing only four bite-size gigs in Melbourne and Sydney.
Those who missed out on listening to the Black Flag pioneer talk about everything from “chance encounters with Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer to almost vomiting on American right-wing shock jock Rush Limbaugh at a party with William Shatner” , will be pleased to know that he is returning to our shores in April and May of next year.
While no official dates or venues have been announced just yet, Rollins has posted a rough itinerary for his forthcoming ‘Long March’ tour on his blog. The year-long sojourn kicks off in January of 2012 and will see Henry arrive on our shores in April, hopefully to perform a national run of spoken-word shows.
All Hank has to say about the tour so far is that: “ A lot of shows in all these territories are booked or close to it. As soon as things lock in more solidly, I will let you know. It’s going to be a lot of shows, a lot of planning and it’s not all that far off. If you are curios about any of this, perhaps it’s better that you just let the shows get announced, rather than send in questions. You know me, if I can get to your town or close to it, I will.”
Stay tuned to FasterLouder for tour dates as they come to hand. In the meantime…
