FL Splendour Studio 2011
Tue 2nd Aug, 2011 in Local News
With enough confectionery to make Willy Wonka weak at the knees and music photographer Daniel Boud behind the lens the FL Splendour Studio was the place to be on the weekend.
Over the three days of the festival thirty bands came to visit our sugar scented fun land – we covered Devendra Banhart, Foster The People and The Grates in fairy floss, whipped cream, chocolate and hundreds & thousands; got Liam Finn to smash a watermelon; led James Blake, The Vines and The Living End into the woods with a giant lollipop and even got Splendour organisers Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco in on the action. The results were one spectacular mess.
Bands featured in the FL studio: Jane’s Addiction, Friendly Fires, The Panics, Cut Copy, Devendra Banhart, Pnau, Bluejuice, Kele, Dananananaykroyd, Jebediah, Eskimo Joe, James Blake, Warpaint, Wild Beasts, Gotye, The Hives, Mogwai, Lanie Lane, Foster The People, Seeker Lover Keeper, The Grates, The Living End, Mark Lanegan and Isobel Campbell, Regina Spektor, Oh Mercy, Liam Finn, Elbow, Young The Giant, The Vines and Splendour organisers Jessica Ducrou and Paul Piticco
