The Wombats tour

Following on from the enormous success of their second album This Modern Glitch and a tour with the Groovin’ the Moo festival in May, The Wombats are heading back Down Under for their biggest Aussie tour to date.

The Palais, Melbourne

According to FL’s reviews of the band’s recent tour “The Wombats are still as charming as ever and have clearly moved towards a sound that is less angular and more poppy with their new material. This shift may well have chin stroking hipsters scowling but they sure as hell will still be dancing.”

The Wombats will be joined on tour by Faker and 20-year-old Melbourne singer/songwriter Owl Eyes.

Tuesday 11th October – Challenge Stadium, Perth
Thursday 13th October – The Arena, Brisbane
Friday 14th October – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Saturday 15th October – Festival Hall, Melbourne
Sunday 16th October – Entertainment Centre Theatre, Adelaide

Tickets on sale Friday 5th August

These guys are becoming like Bloc Party and The Killers (except that BP and TK are better). Still, will probably end up going to this.

I thought it closed for a while, but it's re-opening soon... I see Frenzal Rhomb are playing there in September

if only other international bands showed as much commitment to tour down here as the wombats have.. they've only been around since late 2007 and this is like their 5th or 6th time touring our great country!! weezer and radiohead take note....

Add on bf + postage/the 'cost' associated to picking them up at the venue and looking at around $90 to see them. You said it, MilkySheep

Really? Thats a bit exy, but I guess if it's a good support and good venue, it'll be worth it.

Well, I don't mind them, and I do like their live show more than most, so I guess that's not too bad

Owl Eyes is one of my favourite Aussie acts at the moment. Brooke has a killer voice, and the new stuff is sounding great. Definitely not going to this tour but I'm really happy for her success.
