Rottofest 2011 is almost upon us with this year’s music, comedy and art festival taking place on the first weekend of spring, 3rd – 4th September.

Headlining the event for the musical side is The Brow Horn Orchestra who will be joined by a showcase of local talent providing the soundtrack to the island festival. There will also be a film festival and short film comp and street performers across the two day festival.

Rottofest’s major event on Saturday night is the national Launch the Comedian competition with comic Dave Thornton as MC With $3,000 up for grabs, competitors include high calibre national comics: Matt Okine (NSW), Damien Power (QLD), Emma Zammit (WA), Ronny Chieng (VIC), Jon Brooks (SA) & Danny McGinlay (VIC).

Rottofest is on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September. Early Bird Weekend passes are available until Wednesday 27th July and include overnight accommodation and ferry rides. Day passes are also available. For more details see the Rottofest 2011 website
